How to read a Certificate of Analysis
A practical framework for checking identity, batch details, methods, results, and authorization.
Red Chem Biotech Private Limited · Updated 2026-09-13
A Certificate of Analysis is a batch-specific record summarizing tests and reported results against an agreed specification. It should be assessed as evidence, not decoration.
Start with the legal supplier or manufacturer name, product identity, batch number, dates, specification reference, test methods, acceptance criteria, reported results, and authorization. Confirm that the document is internally consistent and traceable to the batch under review.
A certificate should not be accepted merely because it contains a logo or formal layout. Buyers should verify the issuing entity, document status, and supporting quality agreement where relevant.
